B. Practical Preparation

- Pack Ihram (two white sheets for men; modest clothing for women).

The Journey Begins: Ihram & Intention (Niyyah)
Before entering the holy lands, one must assume the state of Ihram, which signifies:
- Purity and equality before
- Detachment from worldly affairs.

Ihram and Niyyah (Intention)
At Miqat (the boundary for entering Ihram), perform ghusl (ritual cleansing) and wear Ihram. Then, make the intention (niyyah):
“Labbaik Allahumma Umrah”
